Association of Arts Pretoria

The Association of Arts Pretoria has been a leading force in the visual arts since 1947, enabling creative expression and cultivating a love for visual art. It promotes all forms of the visual arts, encourages an active visual arts culture across South African communities, and develops artistic talent and skills. About thirty exhibitions are held each year, showing established artists alongside avant-garde and new art forms, with a platform for both emerging and established painters and sculptors. The Association also runs the Sasol New Signatures Art Competition, sponsored by SASOL since 1990, and presents regular classical concerts and book launches at its gallery in the Austin Roberts Bird Sanctuary in Nieuw Muckleneuk.
