Audubon of Martin County is a local Audubon chapter founded in 1955 with the aim of conserving and wisely using America's natural resources. It manages Possum Long Nature Center in Stuart, Florida, and oversees public access to the 2,600-acre Lakeside Ranch Stormwater Treatment Area. The chapter offers free field trips, expert-led hikes, special events and lectures throughout the year. Its hands-on, nature-based programs reach children through local schools and community partnerships, and it advocates for birds, wildlife and healthy habitats. Staff, interns and volunteers support this work, and members are guided to take action on environmental policy. The chapter also holds an annual juried photography contest and exhibition.
