Ayatana

Ayatana (operating as The Biophilium) is a Canadian artist-run residency program that bridges the natural sciences and contemporary art. Founded in 2014, it offers field expeditions in wild places and online webinar courses covering topics such as transformation, ecology, ornithology, mycology, and death. The program connects practicing artists with research scientists to support conceptual development and foster dialogue between artistic and scientific communities. The Biophilium also hosts a free monthly Brain Club for artists to discuss mental health, and a book club focused on biology, wildlife, and ecology.
