BAXTER ST at the Camera Club of New York, founded in 1884 as The Camera Club of New York, is one of New York's oldest artist-run nonprofit spaces. It supports emerging and mid-career lens-based artists at critical moments in their careers, with a focus on photography and video. Its programming includes exhibitions, a workspace residency program, conversation series, open calls for guest curators and mid-career artists, and internships. Since 2025 it has operated from 154 Ludlow Street in Lower Manhattan, doubling its footprint and capacity for programming. The organization has been certified by W.A.G.E. since 2015 for voluntarily paying artist fees that meet national compensation standards. Its historical archives are held at the New York Public Library.
