Founded in 1999, the Black Swamp Arts Council is a not-for-profit arts organization serving Northwest Ohio and the surrounding tri-state region. It promotes and expands access to the visual, performing and literary arts through affordable classes, exhibits, performances, events and arts camps for all ages and abilities.
In 2024 the council was given a storefront building in historic Archbold, which it renovated as the Black Swamp Arts Center. The center has a ceramics studio with a kiln, classroom space and a gallery that changes exhibitions about every six weeks.
