About
Founded in 1975, Bromfield Gallery is one of Boston's premier artist-run galleries, with an emphasis on New England artists working in a wide range of contemporary media.
The gallery shows painting, sculpture, printmaking, drawing, video, installation, and new media, and features three galleries plus a flat file for browsing.
Bromfield is best known for its yearly SOLO competition, which awards two solo exhibitions to emerging artists, along with recurring shows such as Winter Works and an annual group exhibition of gallery artists.
Submissions for its Visiting Artist program and for gallery membership are juried monthly by the resident artists, who range from emerging talents to mid-career artists holding teaching positions in the Boston area.
The gallery is located in Boston's SOWA arts and design district in the South End, alongside more than a dozen other contemporary art galleries.
