Buinho is a nonprofit creative hub and educational center in the historic town of Messejana, Portugal. It began in 2015 as one of Europe's pioneering rural Fab. Labs and has grown into a place that fosters creativity, collaboration and social innovation.
Its programme areas are the Fab. Lab, an artist residency and educational activities. Residents are hosted in several restored houses in the town's historic quarter, which offer private lodgings and studio space.
A core team of four full-time members, supported by international volunteers from the European Solidarity Corps, runs the organization. It aims to build a network of creative spaces open to artists, makers, designers, writers and educators.
