Chorus America is the advocacy, research, and leadership development organization that advances the choral field. It supports choral conductors, administrators, board members, and singers with tools, training, peer networking, and access so that choruses can contribute more fully to their communities. The organization serves around 4,000 choruses, individuals, businesses, and organizations through programs, publications, research, and professional services. Its offerings include membership, an online community, a national conference, online workshops, a choral-orchestral conducting academy, grants, awards, and commission consortiums. Founded in 1977 as the Association of Professional Vocal Ensembles, it now represents hundreds of choruses of every kind throughout the U.S., Canada, and beyond. It is governed by a diverse board of arts leaders, and its executive staff is headquartered in Washington DC.
