The City of Anderson is the municipal government of Anderson, South Carolina, the county seat and principal city of Anderson County. It is run under a Council-Manager form of government, with a Mayor and eight Councilmembers who set policy and a City Manager who administers city affairs.
The city provides water and wastewater services, owns and operates a public bus system, and runs divisions covering recreation, electric utilities and police. It also supports local business through entrepreneurial programming and economic development, and organizes downtown events such as Theatre in the Park, Soirée and Christmas in Anderson.
