The City of Oklahoma City is the municipal government of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, with City Hall at 200 North Walker. The city was incorporated in 1890, a year after the 1889 Land Run, and became the state capital in 1910. Its Office of Arts and Cultural Affairs assists artists, residents, businesses and organizations, encourages cultural planning, preservation and development, and builds ties among artists and cultural and community groups. The office keeps an artist registry, publishes opportunities and announcements, and looks after the city's public art, including an interactive public art map. The Oklahoma City Arts Commission advises the City Council on artistic, cultural and aesthetic matters.
