French organization mobilizing artists and cultural actors around ecology and environmental issues since 2008.
COAL (Coal Art et Environnement) is a French arts organization founded in 2008 that supports the emergence of a new culture of ecology and the living world. It mobilizes artists and cultural actors around societal and environmental issues through initiatives such as the annual Prix COAL Art et Environnement (awarded since 2010) and the Prix étudiant COAL (since 2020). COAL curates exhibitions, advises institutions and local authorities, and leads European cooperation programs. It also animates conferences, workshops, and operates Ressource0.com, the first dedicated resource site for art and ecology.
