The Columbia Museum of Art, known as the CMA, presents world-class exhibitions and programs in the Midlands and cares for its own collection, which is on view in its galleries. Current exhibitions include work by Winston Wingo and a photography show on Richard Samuel Roberts, who ran a photo studio in Columbia from 1922. The museum offers tours, talks, preschool programs, field trips, summer camps and continuing education, along with events such as the Arts & Draughts museum party. Members support the museum and can join affinity groups including the Columbia Design League, the Contemporaries and Friends of African American Art & Culture. The CMA also runs Binder, its storytelling arm, which shares staff favorites, recorded talks, a podcast and museum news, and it rents its spaces for private events.
