The Constance Saltonstall Foundation for the Arts supports visual artists and writers of New York State through two programs held at its property in Ithaca, New York. Its juried residencies, also called Fellowships, run from late May through October. They are competitive, free to attend, stipend-supported and inclusive, with accessible facilities and dedicated sessions for artist and writer parents and full-time caregivers. Between mid-November and late April, the foundation offers its six private apartments and studios for self-directed retreats. These are open first-come, first-served to residency alumni, the local arts community and dedicated writers or artists from around the state. The foundation was established in memory of its founder, Constance Saltonstall (1944-1994).
