Community society of creative adults who practice, promote and exhibit studio arts since 1948.
The Defiance Society of Artists is an organization of creative, community-oriented adults who meet to practice and promote studio arts. The Society offers members the chance to explore various art media, develop technique, and build an appreciation of art together. Organized in 1948, it has its own home on Pearl Street, which it purchased on the Society's tenth anniversary. It sponsors events open to the public, including demonstrations and workshops by members and other accomplished regional artists, and it houses a collection of work exhibited in its gallery.
