A Toronto gallery championing under-represented, marginalized mid-career artists.
The Drey Gallery was founded by artist Drew Simpson in 2019, opening first in a historic mill in Glen Williams, Canada's last registered hamlet. Committed to reimagining the traditional art business model, the gallery champions under-represented, often marginalized mid-career artists by standing alongside them rather than simply representing them. It expanded to a second location in Berlin, Germany in 2020, creating collaborations in print, fashion, video and community programming across two continents. In 2021 the gallery relocated to Toronto's East York before moving to the city's Chinatown district, where it continues to develop art fairs, residency programs, media and podcasting alongside its roster of artists.
