Elf School of the Arts

The Elf School of the Arts is an artist residency and creative community housed in a historic 1928 elementary school in the mountains of Western North Carolina. After a two-year intensive renovation completed in 2024, the school provides studio space, equipment, and lodging for up to four resident artists at a time. The organization's mission is to provide a space for artists to contemplate, practice, and create, fostering a community of like-minded artists that encourages creativity and exploration. Elf supports a wide range of disciplines including book arts, dance, jewelry and casting, music, painting, photography, printmaking, weaving, and writing.
