FOLIO is a nationally recognized literary journal affiliated with the College of Arts and Sciences at American University in Washington, DC. Since 1984 it has published original creative work by both new and established authors, and its past issues have included work by Roxane Gay, Billy Collins, Franny Choi and Ross Gay, as well as interviews with writers such as Carmen Maria Machado and Allen Ginsberg. Each volume is built around a theme, such as Horror, Metamorphosis, Mirrors and In-Between. The journal also hosts Café MFA, a literary blog written by students in the university's MFA in creative writing program, with craft posts, local literary events and campus open mic nights.
