The first contemporary art foundation in Africa, presenting exhibitions of contemporary African and diasporic art.
Fondation Blachère describes itself as the first contemporary art foundation in Africa. It presents exhibitions of contemporary creation from Africa and its diaspora, open to the public Monday to Saturday all year round. Its current exhibition, Afroblue, runs from 9 April to 31 October 2026 and brings together 36 artists who explore the colour blue through memory, dreams and stories. A carte blanche installation by the artist Wim Botha is shown upstairs.
