Galleria del Premio Suzzara

The Galleria del Premio Suzzara is an art museum in Suzzara, in the province of Mantova, Lombardy, dedicated to the history and works of the Premio Suzzara. The prize was founded on the idea that art should not be elitist, but should answer a need for beauty, quality and poetry shared by everyone, whatever their social condition or cultural level. The prize has always favoured realism in art, with particular attention to social issues. Its prize-winning paintings form a rich permanent collection that includes works by Guttuso, Sassu, Birolli, Romagnoli, Zigaina and Ligabue.
