Pondicherry pottery studio producing wood-fired stoneware, running courses, residencies and workshops since 1971.
Golden Bridge Pottery is a studio in Pondicherry on the southeast coast of India, founded in 1971 by Deborah Smith and Ray Meeker. It produces a line of wood-fired, glazed stoneware pottery and sells it through its store. The studio runs an intensive ceramics course for students, an introductory course for complete beginners, and artist residencies. It also organizes yearly three-week workshops led by visiting international ceramicists. Many of its former students have gone on to become serious artists and to shape studio ceramics in India and abroad.
