Green Heart Kilifi is a master-planned, walkable eco-town 4 km south of Kilifi town on Kenya's coast, developed by Takaungu Regeneration Project Ltd. Seventy percent of the land is kept as forest, farmland and open space, with building capped at 30%. The town is being built in phases, and residents buy a plot and either self-build to its regulations or have Green Heart build from its product range. Shared services include solar power, water and waste management, co-working spaces, a creek club, a school and on-site eateries. Shaded paths and canopy bridges connect the neighbourhoods, and the project describes itself as a land regeneration effort co-created with the people who buy land and live there.
