An artists association, begun in 1927, running exhibitions, art classes and community art programs at The War Memorial in Grosse Pointe Farms.
The Grosse Pointe Artists Association (GPAA) began in 1927, when a group of artists organized a juried exhibition at a local club. It soon started offering art classes, and returned in May 2016 to its first home, The War Memorial in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan. The association holds eight exhibitions a year, each with a gallery talk by its juror, and schedules about 40 art classes and workshops. It also runs the Promising Artists exhibition for area high school students, art therapy for veterans, and a morning art program for elderly people and their caregivers. Its programs are run by volunteers.
