San Francisco's community darkroom, digital lab, and gallery space, managed by SF Recreation & Parks.
The Harvey Milk Photo Center is the oldest and largest community wet darkroom in the United States, established in 1940 and serving the San Francisco Bay Area for over eight decades. Managed by the San Francisco Recreation & Parks Department, it operates as a community darkroom and gallery space located at 50 Scott Street in Duboce Park. The center offers analog photography classes, a full digital lab for members, and hosts exhibitions, events, and lectures open to the general public. It is deeply rooted in San Francisco's community arts landscape and celebrates photography in both traditional and contemporary forms.
