Organizes Hawaiʻi Island's annual juried art exhibition celebrating native species.
The Hawaii Island Art Alliance organizes the annual Hawaiʻi Nei Art Exhibition, a juried show open to artists across Hawaiʻi Island (the Big Island) working in any medium. The exhibition centers on artwork depicting species native to Hawaiʻi Island, promoting awareness of the island's endemic and indigenous plants and animals. The Alliance partners with conservation-focused groups, including the Three Mountain Alliance Foundation and the State of Hawaiʻi's Division of Forestry and Wildlife, and hosts the show at the Wailoa Center in Hilo. Alongside the exhibition, it runs an Artist Talk-Story Series and shares educational resources on the island's native insects, spiders, and plants.
