Hawaiʻi's state government arts agency promoting and preserving culture and the arts.
The Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts (SFCA) is Hawaiʻi's state government arts agency, dedicated to promoting, perpetuating and preserving culture and the arts throughout the islands. It administers grants and programming for artists, cultural practitioners and educators, including folk and traditional arts grants, the Art in Public Places Program, and arts education initiatives such as Artists in the Schools and student exhibitions. The SFCA operates the Hawaiʻi State Art Museum, known as Capitol Modern, and maintains a public art collection accessible through an online database. The agency publishes an annual report and strategic plan documenting its work supporting Hawaiʻi's diverse arts and culture communities.
