Houston's local arts agency strengthening the city's creative ecosystem through grants, civic art, and cultural planning.
Houston Arts Alliance (HAA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that strengthens Houston's creative ecosystem through programs supported by private, philanthropic, and public partners. As Houston's local arts agency, HAA partners with the City of Houston on key public programs while also delivering privately and philanthropically supported initiatives that serve the broader creative ecosystem. This includes administering city-funded arts grants, commissioning and caring for civic art, leading cultural planning, and supporting resilience and recovery efforts that strengthen Houston's creative community. HAA is not a policymaker, nor does it make subjective funding decisions; instead it administers, supports, and amplifies, ensuring that public and private funds are distributed through fair, transparent processes guided by community panels and strategic oversight. All of its work shares a single purpose: to ensure that creativity in Houston is resourced, resilient, and reflective of the community it serves.
