Historic estate arts center in New Castle, PA, offering exhibitions, festivals, classes and workshops for all ages.
The Hoyt Arts Center was founded in 1965 by a group of visual artists who wanted to develop and showcase local talent, and it now serves more than 20,000 people a year across two turn-of-the-century estates in Lawrence County. It runs exhibitions, festivals, a permanent collection, and the Period House, and has shown work by artists such as Romare Bearden, Robert Motherwell and Eva Zeisel. Its programs include art-making workshops, music lessons, historical tours, after-school arts and summer camps for young people, along with classes for all experience levels. The Center's mission is "to expand and enrich the life of the community through participation in the arts."
