Idaho's official state arts agency, funding and supporting artists, arts education and communities statewide.
The Idaho Commission on the Arts, also known as Arts Idaho, is Idaho's official state arts agency, operating under the office of the Governor. Created in 1967, it works to bring the arts to all Idahoans by building a network of arts champions, convening gatherings for artists and arts administrators, and providing grants and technical assistance to arts and cultural organizations. The Commission makes arts education a priority through Arts Education Project grants, the Poetry Out Loud recitation competition, and teaching artists placed in schools, libraries and community centers. It also supports individual artists and runs a Folk and Traditional Arts Program that documents and funds traditional artists and Idaho folklife.
