Iowa's state arts agency supporting creativity, learning and participation in the arts.
The Iowa Arts Council is Iowa's state arts agency, established in 1967 to build and sustain culturally vibrant communities across the state. It empowers Iowans by cultivating creativity, learning and participation in the arts, offering grants and support for artists, arts organizations, schools and communities. The Council collaborates with the National Endowment for the Arts as its federal partner and with Arts Midwest as its regional partner. Its programs span creative community development, artist support and career development, arts organization and access initiatives, and the creative economy, including Produce Iowa's support for filmmaking.
