The Island Art Centre is a nonprofit, artist-owned co-op in historic Fernandina Beach, Florida, and has been a part of Nassau County's cultural life for over five decades. Its mission is to create a welcoming space where artists, students and the community come together to create, inspire and learn. The gallery shows the work of local exhibiting artists alongside rotating themed exhibitions, while its education center offers art classes and workshops. The centre is powered by a volunteer workforce and also runs community events, outreach programs and the Shrimp Festival. It began in 1975 as a small group of local artists and became the Island Art Association, Inc. in 1982.
