Jacksonville State University's Department of Art and Design offers BFA, BA, and MFA degree programs in visual art.
The Department of Art and Design at Jacksonville State University provides a comprehensive professional education in the study and practice of visual art and design. Undergraduates choose between a BFA and a BA, concentrating in one of six areas: Ceramics, Illustration, Graphic Design, Painting, Photography, or Printmaking, and the department also offers an MFA in Visual Communication Design. The program emphasizes professional practice, portfolio building, and real-world experience to prepare students for careers in the arts. Several student organizations, including Kappa Pi, Potter's Guild, AIGA, Photography Club, and Print Club, support student involvement outside the classroom.
