The John Bauer Pottery Studio and BnB

John Bauer Ceramics is a working pottery and porcelain studio based at the Montebello Design Centre in Cape Town, South Africa, run by award-winning ceramic artist John Bauer. The studio creates and sells bespoke ceramic wall art, tile panels, and one-of-a-kind commissioned pieces, and John has been recognized with awards including the CSA Corobrik National Ceramics Biennial Premiere Award and the Innibos National Craft Award. Alongside its studio and gallery work, the organization hosts a hands-on ceramic art residency in an on-site guest house, and has created a free public art installation, the Ceramic Rubbing Route, for the city of Cape Town.
