Kansas City community of regional photographers and collectors presenting and promoting the photographic arts.
The Kansas City Society for Contemporary Photography is a community of regional photographers and collectors presenting and promoting the photographic arts. It was launched in June 2015 by members of an earlier group, the Society for Contemporary Photography, to educate, create, communicate and exhibit. It welcomes anyone interested in photography, whether an artist, collector, curator, gallerist or enthusiast. Participation in events is generally open to everyone, and membership provides discounts and participation in member group shows. The society also takes part in community projects, including a photographic archive project with the Mid-Continent Public Library and the Midwest Genealogy Center.
