International arts centre and artist residency in a medieval Burgundy village.
La Porte Peinte is an international arts centre located in Noyers sur Serein, a medieval village in Burgundy recognized as one of the 100 most beautiful villages in France. Housed in a rambling medieval half-timbered building overlooking the village square, it offers artists, makers, musicians and writers in residence the opportunity for creative exploration and exchange in a supportive environment. Each creator in residence chooses a private studio space suited to their practice, and the centre includes a ground-floor gallery, workshop spaces and event spaces for classes and performances. Along with residency accommodation, La Porte Peinte also runs a tea room, a shop, an arts club, and B&B lodging in seven bedrooms.
