The Lakefront Festival of Art is an annual weekend art festival organized by Friends of Art, the Milwaukee Art Museum's volunteerism-focused support group. Artists exhibit and sell their work in booths across categories including ceramics, glass, jewelry, fiber, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture and wood, and Best in Show awards are given each year.
The festival is powered by hundreds of community volunteers who help with admission, hands-on art activities and assisting artists. Friends of Art meets from January to June in 11 sub-committees to plan the festival and coordinate onsite operations. Museum members can buy tickets early at a special price.
