Lewisham Arthouse is a not-for-profit artist-led co-operative based in a Grade 2 listed building in Deptford, South-East London. Founded in 1992, it provides 40 artist studios alongside a public gallery and workshop programmes. It offers subsidised workspace, exhibition and event facilities, from art exhibitions, classes and workshops to experimental music performances. Members keep rent affordable through a Work Hours scheme, volunteering five hours a month to run the organisation and shape its programmes. The Arthouse also maintains open access to an analogue photography darkroom and a pottery kiln, and works with schools, colleges, housing associations and local community groups.
