Lee's Summit Creates is a grassroots nonprofit that drives regional excitement and participation in the local arts community. It acts as an advocate for artists, art organizations and art lovers, working to build a regional destination for creative expression, appreciation and connection.
The organization encourages creative expression, activates local gathering spaces and aims to strengthen quality of life and the local economy. It publishes a monthly e-mail newsletter on artists, arts organizations and events in and around Lee's Summit, and invites local artists and groups to introduce themselves.
It offers community members chances to make collaborative art at events such as Downtown Lee's Summit's Fourth Friday Art Walk. Donations help support local artists, attract new arts and create new public spaces. It is led by a volunteer board of directors.
