Lugar Comun

Lugar Comun is a literary and cultural organization founded by Venezuelan immigrants, originally established as an independent bookstore in Caracas before relocating to Miami in 2018. The organization promotes cultural exchange through literature, translation, and publishing, with a focus on cities as expressions of identity, coexistence, and transformation. Through its publishing imprint Alliteration Publishing House, Lugar Comun publishes bilingual poetry collections by BIPOC authors representing diverse migration experiences and multilingual voices. It also runs the Lugar Comun Poetry Award, an international prize for emerging writers in Spanish, now in its seventh edition.
