Martindale Brightwood Community Development Corporation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 1992 to address the needs of residents in the Martindale-Brightwood neighborhood, just northeast of downtown Indianapolis. Its mission is to be a catalyst for sustainable development of the community through housing, employment, economic development and environmental justice. It coordinates homeowner repairs, works with real estate partners to build and preserve affordable housing, and runs an Individual Development Account program that helps low- to moderate-income neighbors save toward financial goals. It also offers the only mobile YES program in Indiana, giving young people ages 16-24 job readiness training and paid work experience, and supports small business owners with financial education and access to capital and resources.
