The Michigan Arts and Culture Council (MACC) is Michigan's state arts agency. It works within the Michigan Economic Development Corporation from 300 N. Washington Square in Lansing, and serves as the state's main source of arts and cultural information and grant funding. The council guides how arts resources are distributed so that Michigan communities gain the civic, economic and educational benefits of arts and culture. It awards grants for arts and cultural projects under published guidelines, runs the Rising Leaders program for young arts professionals, and keeps statewide databases of field-trip destinations and teaching artists. It also publishes The Field Report, a quarterly newsletter.
