Museum of Arts and Design

The Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) is a museum dedicated to contemporary craft, art, and design, presenting exhibitions that showcase artists and designers working across a wide range of media. MAD is known for its Artist Studios program, which since 2008 has hosted artists-in-residence on its sixth floor, giving visitors the chance to observe and engage with their creative process. The Museum offers exhibitions, workshops, talks, and public programs spanning jewelry, ceramics, textiles, and design, and it awards the biannual Burke Prize to honor artists advancing the American studio craft movement. MAD also operates a museum store and an on-site restaurant that support its mission and the artists it represents.
