The Music Center is a performing arts center in Downtown Los Angeles, envisioned by Dorothy Buffum Chandler more than 50 years ago as a cultural focal point for the whole county. Its campus is home to TMC Arts, Center Theatre Group, Los Angeles Master Chorale, LA Opera and LA Phil. TMC Arts, its programming arm, presents over 1,000 free and low-cost events a year in theatres, outdoor spaces, schools and neighborhoods. These include dance residencies and performances, festivals and holiday celebrations in Gloria Molina Grand Park, concerts on Jerry Moss Plaza, and digital and installation work. It also runs learning programs for students and teachers, such as the Spotlight competition for high school students, arts integration partnerships and professional development for educators.
