The National Art Education Association (NAEA) is the professional home for visual arts, design, and media arts educators. Founded in 1947, it brings together pre-K through high school teachers, college professors, researchers, teaching artists, school administrators, and art museum educators from across the United States, Canada, and more than 25 other countries. Its mission is to advance the tools and resources for high-quality visual arts, design, and media arts education across diverse populations and communities of practice. The association offers professional learning, research, publications such as Art Education Journal and NAEA News, and a national convention. It also runs the National Art Honor Societies for middle and high school students, supports volunteer leadership roles, and advocates for the field, alongside its sister organization, the National Art Education Foundation.
