The National Asian Culture Center (Asia Culture Center) is a Ministry of Culture-run arts and cultural exchange institution in Gwangju, South Korea.
The Asia Culture Center (ACC), formally the National Asian Culture Center, describes itself as an international arts and cultural exchange organization under Korea's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. It describes itself as the only art and cultural organization in Korea dedicated to Asian culture. The building was constructed from 2008 to 2014, and the center opened in November 2015. In January 2022 it merged with the Asia Culture Institute to form the integrated National Asian Culture Center. Wikipedia notes that the site's design is a tribute to the 1980 Gwangju Uprising. The center is organized into five sections: ACC Culture Exchange, ACC Archive & Research, ACC Creation, ACC Theater and ACC Children. Its programs include exhibitions, performances, an open call for emerging Asian artists and the ACC Creators Residency, which focuses on the intersection of art and technology. It is at 38 Munhwajeondang-ro, Dong-gu, Gwangju.
