The Norman Firehouse Art Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 1970 as a community arts center in a former city fire station in Norman, Oklahoma. Its mission is to enrich the community through creative visual arts education, experiences and exhibitions. It offers classes for all ages in media such as ceramics, printmaking, painting, jewelry, fiber and kiln-formed glass, along with short-form workshops taught by guest instructors. The center also runs a gallery that hosts about six free exhibitions a year, a gift shop, artist receptions and family-friendly community events. Through outreach programs such as Art Forces, Healing Studio and Equality Club, it serves groups including adults with disabilities, veterans and students in Title I schools, often at no cost to participants. It is also a leading provider of art education in Norman's public elementary schools.
