Ontario Society of Artists

The Ontario Society of Artists (OSA) fosters and promotes the visual arts throughout Ontario and has done so since 1872. It is a membership society: artists apply to join, renew their membership and are listed in a public member directory. The OSA presents juried and member exhibitions, including an open juried exhibition, a new members exhibition and regional hub exhibitions, and holds an annual art retreat for members. It marked its 150th anniversary in 2022 and maintains an archive of its history. The society also speaks out on conservation issues, including old growth forests, the Escarpment corridor and the Alliston aquifer.
