Gallery presenting exhibitions, Indigenous artist programs, archival projects and community events.
Open Space Arts Society presents exhibitions and ongoing programs in its gallery spaces, including the Fort Street Window Gallery and the Foyer Gallery. Its programming includes participatory and collaborative projects such as the karaoke-based Love Songs to End Colonization, an archival program called Maintaining Memory, and the Urban Ecologies program on urban biodiversity. The organization also supports Indigenous artists through initiatives such as the Indigenous Emerging Artists Program, which produced the On the Land mural project. It publishes artist editions like the interactive artist book CENTO and organizes community events including Small Press Fest and Desi Karaoke. Open Space acknowledges that it works on the unceded territories of the Lək̓ʷəŋən Peoples, the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations, and commits to respecting Indigenous knowledges and reducing its environmental impact.
