Nonprofit public glass art center offering classes, exhibitions, and live glassblowing demonstrations.
Pittsburgh Glass Center is a nonprofit, public access glass art center where anyone can take classes, explore a contemporary glass gallery, shop for glass gifts, and watch live glassblowing demonstrations. Since opening, it has educated over 750,000 individuals and helped make Pittsburgh a significant hub in the international studio glass community. The center offers classes ranging from short Make-It-Now sessions to multi-week courses and summer intensives, taught by local and international glass artists. It also hosts artist residencies, exhibitions, and free public events, and has drawn artists from around the world to live and work in Pittsburgh. A multimillion-dollar expansion in 2024 nearly doubled the center's capacity to meet growing demand for glass programs and studios.
