A nonprofit jazz and music club in Vienna presenting international and contemporary jazz since 1993.
Porgy & Bess is a jazz and music club in the centre of Vienna, run by a nonprofit association whose stated aim is the promotion of music culture. It was founded in 1993 by Mathias Rüegg, Renald Deppe, Gabriele Mazic and Christoph Huber, and since December 2000 has been based in the converted former Rondell cinema on Riemergasse. The club presents a year-round programme of concerts with a focus on jazz and contemporary music. It also coordinates the European Jazz Network through its international affairs team, and it publishes a code of conduct and a sustainability statement for its guests and artists.
