The Professional Association of Visual Artists (PAVA) is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by artists for artists, based in the Tampa Bay area of Florida. Its mission is to support and promote the arts and arts education through its activities within the organization and in the broader community. PAVA is funded by membership subscriptions, individual donations and a corporate sponsor, and has no paid employees. A governing board elected by the membership makes its business, financial and policy decisions under the organization's by-laws. It grew out of the artist-run Cool Art Show, which began in 1988 and became its first exhibition, and it continues to present the Cool Art show.
